Long story short, I ordered a replacement laser for my CECHA01 model PS3 only to discover it appears to have a replacement drive that is labeled as one for a CECHH01 PS3 with the dual laser diodes. PS3 CECHA01 MODDING QUESTIONS. I'm thinking about doing some mods to the CECHA01 to make the console more robust and survive longer. I have 3 questions in total: I'd like to put a very large SSD in place of the original 60GB HDD. But, I've been told I don't want to do this because the drive may fail prematurely as the PS3 OS won't be running ...
